November 18, 2005 Siena Jazz Foundation became
as: Siena Jazz Foundation - National Academy of
jazz.
The Foundation is a cultural institution in order to teach and spread of jazz.
The three founding partners are: City of Siena, Provincial Administration of Siena, Siena jazz Association.
The headquarters is located in the Medici Fortress in Siena, where the Foundation carries out its activities in 20 classrooms with modern equipment for teaching and accompanied by a sound archive and a library.
Siena jazz from its birth has been distinguished by having developed its activities in three main areas: teaching, manufacturing, and research.
In particular, the Foundation has prepared, through the National Institute on jazz "Arrigo Polillo", formed in Siena May 21, 1989, a sound archive and a library that represent the most important national reference point for students, musicians and scholars research and documentation;
Siena Jazz is recognized for years as a qualified educational reality and a point of reference for the national training and development of young graduates and professionals, however, neo-contemporary jazz and its derivatives;
The Foundation is one of the promoters, in 1989, the IASJ - International Association of Schools of Jazz, based in Holland, which promotes Italian jazz in Europe and around the world using Meetings related to the most important jazz schools in the world.
